Tutorial: Skin tones

Hello dear Copic friends!
Hallo Liebe Copic.Freunde!

It's time for a new tutorial. Today it's my turn to show you a new tutorial of mine. I decided to share a tutorial about the different types of skin tones and how to color these. I hope you find it interesting and would be happy if my tutorial would be helpful to you. So let's get started.

***
Also fangen wir an...

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

European skin tones:
First I want to start with different ways of european skin tones.

***

This skin tone should be what most of us here in the middle of Europe have. This is my second favourite color combo, giving a "healthy" skin tone. I went with brown as the color for the hair but that's just what I picked. I think every of the other hair colors will go with this skin tone. For the cheeks a rosy R20 is best here.

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

The next combination of Copics gives you a very light skin color. I think this skin tone goes great with red hair, so I went with this one here. For the cheeks the light and earthy tone of E93 is best with these skin colors.

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

And this is my favourite combination for skin. I use this most of the times. It looks a bit like "swedish coloring" - the style with dark edges and light center of the images - and I like this one very much. I went with blond hair here. And also on this one I used R20 for the cheeks.

***

African skin tones
Here I am showing two ways of coloring dark skin tones.

***

Afrikanische Hautfarben

The first one is a kind of dark african skin tone. I think black hair is the only thing that really goes with it. Just like nature does it. For the cheeks you use a dark pink here since a light tone like R20 will make the dark color bleed out. And it even wouldn't match. So I went with R22.

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
This combination of Copics gives a little lighter skin tone than the one before and it's the one I prefer. Also here black hair looks best and also here R22 was used for the cheeks.

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
Asian skin tones

 ***

Asiatischer Hauttyp

This combination of Copics is what I use for coloring asian skin tones. Also here the natural hair color is black. And for the cheeks I went again with a light E93.

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥
As an overview I mad myself this skin color chart and put it up next to my craft desk. So I always have the different skin tones and the Copics need for them at hand. Maybe this is an idea for you too?

***

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I hope this tutorial about the different skin tones is helpful to you.

Hugs, Diana

Hallo Diana, you did a good job, with all these skin tones. The remark about blushes on dark skins is okay, but I think she looks good with her red cheeks.
Thanks for all the work, greeting Diny
